The first bloom of spring! We aren't quite sure what this is, as we were not the ones to plant it, but it has popped up two springs in a row now:

I was feeling adventurous, so I decided to cook dinner all on my own:
It turned out pretty well - dory fish, hash brown potatoes, and mushrooms with onions!

Since the inclusion of Tauren Paladins in the latest World of Warcraft expansion, we have been awaiting a run-in with someone named HolyCow. In Tol Barad tonight, it finally happened:

Next stop was San Francisco, where it rained the whole time. The best thing to do on a rainy day in SF? Stop into City Lights bookstore and wander around for a bit, then pop in next door for a drink at Vesuvio. This is from the upstairs poetry and beat lit section at City Lights:

On day #3, it rained the entire day. There was little else we could do but wine taste. One of the most interesting wineries of the day was the Kelsey Vineyards in See Canyon (Avila Beach), where there were over 50 peacocks. Yes, 50. And they are LOUD:
